The government has planned to make certificates showing full vaccination against Covid-19 mandatory for people to dine at restaurants, enter shopping malls or travel by planes, trains and launches to fight the Omicron variant of coronavirus.
Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam made the disclosure in a press briefing after cabinet meeting on Thursday.
“Students above 12 cannot go to school without taking the first dose. Besides, no one can go outside without masks, he said”
The Cabinet Secretary said that restrictions will be imposed on holding meetings and events.
People will not be allowed to enter the Trade Fair and Book Fair without vaccination cards.
Mentioning that public transports will be allowed to carry passengers on half capacity only if infection rate increases, he said Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) will be directed to take initiatives so that the fares are not increased in that case.
